
Mark Cavendish lost his lead in the Tour of Spain to Philippe Gilbert on Monday.
The Manx missile struggled in the sultry conditions in the 157.3km (97.7-mile) run from Marbella to Malaga and he was left trailing by the peloton.
Cavendish dropped to 138th in the 21-stage race, which ends on September 19.
Fellow Manxman Peter Kennaugh is 180th overall.
