Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish has finished second in the opening stage of the Tour of Oman.
He was beaten in a windswept sprint finish by Rabobank rider Theo Boss amid chaotic scenes, as all the riders had to cope with spectators in the middle of the road.
Cav was a late entry, announced by his HTC High Road team on Monday, after competing last week at the Tour of Qatar.
