Isle of Man cyclist Mark Cavendish has been ranked as the number one rider in the world during 2009.
He tops the Classment Eurosport list for the year where points are available from 160 international races.
The ranking is based on top ten finishes, stage wins and jersey wearers with more points on offer for the major Tours.
Cav's Team Columbia-HTC were the best performing outfit for the season by quite a wide margin.
