First Manx athlete ever to garner title
A local baton twirler has become the first Manx competitor ever to be crowned British Open Champion.
Emily Challenor bagged herself two second places and a seventh place at the competition and is now has her sights set on competing in the Nations Cup in Liverpool next month, as part of the United Twirl England team.
Twelve-year old, Maisie Belcher-Smith also had success at the Open Champs, she brought home two second-place results, along with her dance partner, Faiyth Challenor.
Before the British Open, Island competitors shone at the National Final Championships in London in May, bringing home fifteen top-seven placings.
Seventeen-year-old Henry Slevin garnered a whopping three national champion titles, with older sister sister Emily bringing home one national title for herself and a chmapion title.
