Mark Christian is part of the history-making Aqua Blue team

Cyclists in action in Spain and Norway

Mark Christian was part of history as he made his Grand Tour debut at the Vuelta a Espana over the weekend.

The 26 year-old from Douglas was in the 10-strong Aqua Blue Sport team which became the first Irish outfit to compete in a Grand Tour.

After Saturday’s team time trial, Christian finished 120th on stage two and is in 105th position overall.

Lizzie Holden finished 61st overall in the Tour Of Norway after a 65th place finish on Sunday’s final stage.

The event was won by Dutch star Marianne Vos.

Anna Christian also competed in the event before dropping out on Saturday’s penultimate stage.
