Finale to 2025 racing fortnight was called off this evening (7 June)
The Clerk of the TT Course has reiterated that 'safety is paramount' as he explains what he calls the 'difficult' decision to cancel this year's Senior TT race.
The feature event of the racing fortnight, which had been due to start at 7pm tonight (7 June), was scrapped due to high winds.
The decision also follows feedback from riders who took part in a course inspection lap which got underway one hour prior to when the four-lap contest was due to start.
In a message on social media, Mr Thompson explains he would 'never put riders out in unsafe conditions' and is thanking race staff, competitors, teams, spectators and residents for their 'patience and resilience' during an event which has been frequently disrupted, largely due to poor weather:
Furthermore, it was confirmed earlier today (7 June) that tomorrow's contingency session would not be used due to expected poor weather and taking into account more limited road closure periods.
