A St John's FC representative says their bid to compete in the Island Games football tournament will not set precedents.
Committee member Malcolm Blackburn appeared on Friday Football Focus on Manx Radio last night to discuss the matter.
The Isle of Man FA has given its blessing, but says St John's cannot compete as the Isle of Man, or wear the Island kit.
The International Island Games Association's chairman, Jorgen Pettersson, says they would not be able to compete as a club side.
