Convincing wins in Shield
There were convincing wins for Ramsey B and champions Southern Nomads in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield.
Ramsey B won 76-18 at lowly Castletown.
Skipper Will Wren (two), John Sanderson (two), new boy Chris Clague (three), David Keenan (three) and Will Moffatt were among the Ramsey try scorers.
The ever reliable Ben Harding grabbed a hatful of conversions.
Craig Glover (two) and Will Welsh went over for the consolation tries for Town with a conversion from skipper Matt Quine making up their points tally.
Southern Nomads were far too strong for their second string as they saw off Emerging Nomads 74-17.
Tries from Harry Catlow (two), Greg Daines (two), Gerard Landels (two), Adam Boyde (two), Josh Beaumont, Steve McHugh, Andy Lean and coach Casey Davies did the damage.
Skipper Mark Young successfully notched seven conversions.
Al Corrin (two) and Rob Waltzer tries, plus a Ryan Freighter conversion, proved the only reply.
