Eight-wicket loss for Island side against Germany in Rome
The Isle of Man women's national team's debut campaign in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup qualifiers has ended with a defeat.
They suffered an eight-wicket loss at the hands of Germany at Roma Cricket Ground in Italy yesterday afternoon (29 May).
The Isle of Man had set Germany a target of 139-5 after the full 20 overs which Germany managed to overhaul with exactly two overs to spare.
There were some positives for the Manx side - Lucy Barnett managed a half-century and racked up 54 runs in total with Caitlin Henery managing 32 not-out.
They end their first appearance in the tournament in Europe Qualifier Division 2 with a record of one win from their five matches.
Their only victory came on day two with a seven-wicket win over Sweden on Monday (26 May).
