Manx rider Conor Cummins was 9th fastest after the first qualifying session for the Macau Grand Prix.
Honda team-mate and 23-time T.T. winner John McGuinness is on provisional pole ahead of Michael Rutter who has won the far east event 8 times.
Martin Jessopp is 3rd, Ian Hutchinson 4th and Gary Johnson rounds out the top 5.
Russ Mountford came off during the session and is reported to have a broken pelvis and ankle.
There is a final qualifying session tomorrow with the race taking place on Saturday.
