Plans to bring back Castletown event after 'decades away'
Entries have opened for an Island cycling event making its return after 'decades away.'
The Castletown Crit is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 22 June with what's described as closed roads and town centre racing for people of all abilities.
The event will feature a 1km course through Castletown with plans for a number of different classes such as senior, youth, women's and veterans racing as well as 'non-competitive' family-friendly time on the circuit.
Roads will close in Castletown on the day between 2pm and 6.45pm with closures affecting Arbory Street, Castle Street, Bank Street, Malew Street and The Crofts.
Organisers Manx Viking Wheelers Club say the final format of the day will be determined by entries received before the end of this month.
Entries up until 1 June will be £10 with applications after that priced at £20.
The club adds it's also keen to hear from any volunteers who could help run the event with 15 marshals needed.
Senior entries can be submitted via the Rider HQ website whilst youth entries will be via British Cycling and Tuesday youth league sessions.
