Cavendish calls for end to social media abuse

Cycling governed by rules not opinion

Mark Cavendish has appealed for an end to what he’s described as ‘vile and threatening’ social media comments made about him and his family.

It follows his exit from the Tour de France.

The 32 year-old had to pull out of the event on Tuesday night after a collision with world champion Peter Sagan.

It left Cavendish with a broken shoulder whilst Sagan was disqualified.
