Manx rider announces new-look plans for coming year
Isle of Man cyclist, Tyler Hannay is planning to branch out into triathlons in 2026.
The former professional rider announced his intentions to broaden his horizons during his latest post on his YouTube channel this week.
Hannay - who's represented the Island previously at the likes of the Commonwealth Games and Island Games - stepped away from professional cycling earlier this year.
Whilst explaining he's eyeing taking part in cycling, triathlon, running and swimming events going forward, the Manxman adds he's looking forward to this new challenge:
During the same video update, Hannay has also confirmed he has no plans to return to a UCI squad for the next cycling campaign.
At the start of 2025, he initially joined 7 Eleven Cliqq Roadbike Philippines squad but then left in April, stating he was taking a break from the pro cycling scene.
However, he did return to competitive racing in the sport in the summer at the 2025 Island Games in Orkney.
Individually, he claimed three medals with a gold in the men's time trial; silver in the men's criterium and bronze in the men's road race.
He also helped the squad as a whole to team gold in the time trial; team silver in the criterium and team bronze in the road race.
