TT rider was making his debut at Japanese circuit

Isle of Man TT competitor, Davey Todd has helped the AutoRace Ube Racing Team to a top-ten finish at this year's Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race in Japan.

Todd - alongside fellow riders Loris Baz and Naomichi Uramoto - went on to finish sixth and just three laps behind eventual winners, Honda HRC.

The result followed what had also been a positive qualifying session for the trio which put the privateer outfit third on the grid going into the start of the race.

The meeting was also a Suzuka debut for Todd who was a late addition to the team last week.

Following a 'test run' before the race on Wednesday, 30 July he was confirmed as the eventual replacement for Estonian rider, Hannes Soumer who'd withdrawn from the meeting due to injury.

Separately, Todd is expected to back on the Isle of Man later this month for the Classic TT which is running parallel to the Manx Grand Prix from 17-29 August.

There, he's due to rider for the Steadplan Racing team in both the Historic Junior Classic and Historic Senior Classic races.
