Defensive record for Geordies

Premier League champions St. George's finished their campaign with a 9-0 home win over Castletown.

The victory means they ended the season eight points clear of runners-up Old Boys, after an undefeated run of 22 wins and two draws.

Geordies also broke the record for the fewest goals let in during a season with opponents breaching their defence only ten times.

Their scorers against Castletown were McNulty (5), Chris Bass (3) and Frank Jones.

Laxey beat Peel 5-3 at Glen Road with goals from Lee Cowley (2), Ashley Webster, Josh Thomas and Darren Hudgeon. Jonny Myers, Andy Quirk and Daniel Bell were on target for the westerners.

In the Paul Henry Gold Cup semi-finals, St. John's are through to yet another final after a 6-1 win over Union Mills. Andy Glover grabbed a hat-trick in that game, and Nick Hurt (2) and Stephen Glover also found the back of the net.

Colby defeated Ramsey Youth Centre 3-1 in the other tie, with Danny Kniveton, Chris McKenna and James Collett scoring the goals.

Also last night (Wednesday), Colby won 4-1 at Old Boys in the Women's League.
