Easter running festival 'unlikely' to go ahead

Organisers take measures including full refund promise

Organisers of the Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running admit the prospect of the event going ahead is “unlikely”.

They haven’t cancelled yet as they are waiting to see how the current Covid-19 outbreak is managed and whether there is any prospect of the Island coming out of lockdown before Easter.

Several advance measures have been announced including all competitors receiving a full refund, or the option to defer their entry to next year, and payments for t-shirts will be returned.

It’s also been decided the event will not be rearranged to a later date.

If the festival does go ahead it will be limited to just the three races with no entries taken on the day and there will be no formal prize presentation.

Finally race numbers will be collected from the Manx Harriers clubhouse where a one-way system will be in operation and social distancing if required.
