Sean Doyle nets hat-trick

FC Isle of Man made a strong statement last night (6 November) with a 6-2 win over Stafford Town.

The Ravens were 2-0 up inside 10 minutes through goals from Lee Gale and Sean Doyle.

Ste Whitley made it 3-0 not long later with a stunning bicycle kick to the delight of the 1,800-strong crowd inside The Bowl.

Into the second half and Chris Bass Jnr then got the home side's fourth heading home a rebound from close range

Doyle then got his second, and FC IoM's fifth, with a towering header from a corner.

A chaotic final five minutes ensued with the visitors grabbing a goal back to make it 5-1.

But immediately the Manx team hit back with Sean Doyle poking home a rebound from close range and securing his hat-trick to make it 6-1.

Stafford Town then went straight up the other end with Thomas Bowers stroking home to get a second goal of the night for the away side.

A mad few minutes was topped off when the Stafford Town goalkeeper, Joe Morris, was shown a straight red card for kicking the ball into the crowd just before the final whistle.

The win keeps the Ravens inside the NWCFL Div 1 South play-off places.

Their next game will see them travel to Sandbach United on Tuesday night (9 November).
