Ravens travel to north-east for first round proper

FC Isle of Man face another trip on the road this weekend when they take on Billingham Town in the first round proper of the FA Vase on Saturday (22 October).

The Ravens will be encouraged by a positive run of performances despite narrow losses in their last three games on the bounce.

In cup competition last Sunday (16 October), the Island side put in a spirited display in a narrow 1-0 loss away to fellow NWCFL Premier Division side AFC Liverpool who're fighting for promotion from the division.

Looking to this weekend, FC Isle of Man's long journey to the north-east of England is one they also made in the competition last season.

They faced Billingham Synthonia on 23 October, 2021, in the first round of the competition, losing on the day 4-2.

The Manx outfit's opponents this time, Billingham Town, will offer a tough task to overcome.

Craig Hughes' side currently sit top of the Northern League Division Two with 13 wins from their 17 league outings so far.

They're on a recent run of four wins from their last five in all competitions, scoring on 21 occasions and conceding just four in that run.

Billingham Town vs FC Isle of Man takes place at Bedford Terrace on Saturday (22 October), kicking-off at 3pm.
