Ravens hoping to make it three wins from four this weekend

FC Isle of Man will be hoping to make it three wins from four games when they host Winsford United in the NWCFL Premier Division tomorrow evening (4 March).

A recent uplift in form and results means the Ravens could go as many as ten points clear of the relegation zone with a victory, depending on other results around them.

However, the Island side lost to their opponents this weekend 3-0 back on 19 November in what was FC Isle of Man interim manager, Paul Jones, first league game in charge.

Speaking to Manx Radio, Jones was asked about the progress he thinks his side has made since that game and also in recent weeks:

Despite a late 1-0 defeat away to a strong Prestwich Heys side last week, FC Isle of Man currently sit seven points clear of the relegation spots in 20th position after 33 games with 32 points on the board.

Along with two wins in their last three outings, the Manx side have also tightened up defensively in recent games, conceding just twice over that three-match period compared to ten in the trio of fixtures before that.

However, they'll face a Winsford United side which has also discovered better form in recent weeks - the Cheshire club are undefeated in their last four with two wins and two draws.

Furthermore, they sit five places higher in the division than FC Isle of Man and five points better off on 37, having played one game less.

FC Isle of Man vs Winsford United takes place at The Bowl this Saturday (4 March), kicking-off at 6pm.

Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our AM1368 and Digital platforms.
