FC Isle of Man vs Bury 'won't be played this weekend as it stands'

Manx club issues further update following earlier travel disruption

The NWCFL Premier Division match between FC Isle of Man and Bury won't be played this weekend as it stands.

The Manx club has issued an update this afternoon (17 February) following talks with Bury FC and Loganair after the visiting team's travel was disrupted this morning.

FC Isle of Man says at 3.39pm today it confirmed to Bury FC that Loganair had secured places for all Bury players and staff on the 6.20pm flight from Manchester to the Island.

However, the Island club adds it was informed the Bury players had left Manchester airport at around 3.30pm.

Furthermore, FC Isle of Man adds 'we can only hope that there is a reconsideration of this decision and they return to the airport for the flight so that the game can be played tomorrow.'

Earlier, plans were being formulated to rearrange the fixture for Sunday morning (18 February).

Bury FC has since released a statement of its own on the matter, with the club attempting to get the team to the Isle of Man tomorrow - you can read that statement HERE.
