Prem title race and Division 2 promotion fights still wide open
Title and promotion battles remain fiercely-fought across the top two divisions in men's football on Island ahead of another round of midweek fixtures getting underway this evening (28 April).
Nine matches are on the cards tonight across the Canada Life Men's Premier League and Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 with just three points separating the main protagonists in the premier league title race.
Defending champions, Peel lead the way in the top flight ahead of a trip to Union Mills whilst second-placed Corinthians - three points behind Peel and having played a game more - will host Rushen United.
At the bottom end of the premier league, Foxdale - who earned their first league win of the season last weekend - once again need to take all three points tonight against Douglas High School Old Boys (DHSOB.) to avoid relegation later.
Meanwhile, in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, runaway frontrunners, Colby could move a step closer to the title when they welcome Douglas Royal to Station Fields.
Behind Colby, just six points separates second down to fifth in the ongoing fight for the remaining promotion place and Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.) could move up into second if they beat Pulrose United this evening.
