Castletown pull clear at summit of Division 2

Corinthians have leapt to the top of the Canada Life Men's Premier League as defending champions, Peel suffered their first defeat of the season during today's Isle of Man football fixtures (12 September).

A convincing 6-1 victory at Laxey for Corinthians sees them extend their perfect start to the season to four wins from four whilst Peel fell to a narrow 2-1 loss at Onchan this afternoon.

Elsewhere, four of the early Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 contenders met across two fixtures today with Marown hosting Malew and Pulrose United welcoming Castletown.

A 5-1 win for Castletown at Pulrose United sends the southerners four points clear at the summit ahead of Malew in second who were held to a last-gasp draw at Marown.

Among the combination league highlights, Peel kept up their flawless start at the top of Canada Life Combination One with an entertaining 4-3 win over Onchan whilst Douglas Royal's 100 per cent record at the top of Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Combination Two remains intact after victory over Foxdale.
