Football: FA Cup & Woods Cup continue on busy weekend schedule

Northern showdown in top flight among league clashes

The quarter-finals of two cup competitions will get underway during this weekend's upcoming Isle of Man football clashes.

The first set of last-eight ties in both the Ecap FA Cup and GH Corlett Woods Cup will run alongside league matches across the senior men's divisions on Saturday (7 March).

Three of the Ecap FA Cup quarter-finals will be held - Peel will host Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.); Union Mills take on Corinthians and St Mary's welcome Braddan.

One Ecap FA Cup first round game remains to be played tomorrow which will see Douglas High School Old Boys (DHSOB.) face Onchan with the winner to take on Rushen United in the last quarter-final tie which is still to be scheduled.

Elsewhere, one of the quarter-final contests will be held this weekend between Douglas Royal and Pulrose United.

Among tomorrow's league encounters, there's a northern showdown in the Canada Life Men's Premier League when Ayre United host Ramsey whilst in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, Colby - who beat title rivals, Castletown last week - face another southern derby as they take the short trip to Malew.

On Sunday (8 March), three matches are penned in the Canada Life Women's League with Douglas Royal taking on Rushen United; Peel welcome Onchan and Corinthians face Malew.
