Gartland nets brace in commanding friendly win
The Isle of Man Men's national football side have continued their Island Games preparations with a convincing 3-0 win over AFC Carnforth at The Bowl this afternoon (20 May).
The Island side lead after eight minutes courtesy of Ryan Gartland's calm finish from a Josh Ridings cross to open the scoring.
Gartland then got a second three minutes into the second period with a rasping low right-foooted strike from 18 yards into the bottom corner before captain, Matty Woods, added a third five minutes later, poking home a cloe-range rebound from a Ronan McDonnell free-kick,
The squad's assistant coach, Juan Watney, thinks the performance was a step in the right direction ahead of travelling to Guernsey in July:
