Manx squad to welcome Cumbrian opponents to The Bowl this weekend

The Isle of Man women's national football team will return to action on home soil this weekend.

The Manx squad are set to host Kendal Town ladies for a friendly at The Bowl in Douglas tomorrow (14 June), kicking off at 3pm.

For the hosts, this tie is expected to be one of their final pieces of match preparation ahead of the 2025 Island Games in Orkney next month.

Isle of Man team captain Becky Corkish and manager Wayne Lisy say they're looking forward to a relatively-unknown test on Saturday:

It's just over a month since the Isle of Man women's side last took to the pitch in a narrow 1-0 friendly defeat away at Accrington Stanley women on 10 May.

This weekend will be the first time the Isle of Man will have faced their Cumbrian visitors.

There's also now less than a month to go until the Island women's and men's football squads begin their campaign at this year's Island Games which are being held from 12-18 July.

The group stage fixtures for both of those teams were confirmed earlier this month on 3 June.

The women's side will face Gozo in their opening match on Sunday, 13 July before a day later (14 June) taking on Frøya and then completing their group stage schedule against games hosts Orkney on Tuesday, 15 July.
