Football: Isle of Man men's team learns group draw for 2025 Island Games

Hosts Orkney among opponents for Manx side

The Isle of Man men's national football team now know who they'll face in the group stage of the 2025 Island Games in Orkney.

The Manx side have been drawn in group one where they'll face the hosts Orkney as well as Hitra and Frøya.

Exact venues and kick-off times are yet to be confirmed with the games as a whole scheduled to be held from 12-18 July next year.

In total, there are 12 teams in both the male and female football competition - the first time in Island Games history that there will be an equal number of nations across both tournaments.

At the games in Guernsey in 2023 the Isle of Man men's squad finished ninth overall having come into that event as reigning champions and gold medalists at the games before that in Gibraltar in 2019.

Elsewhere, the Isle of Man women's team - who claimed bronze in Guernsey last year - remain all but certain to miss out on a place at Orkney 2025 having been drawn as third reserve for the female competition last month.
