Football: Three-way tie at premier league summit ahead latest fixtures

Division 2 challengers with chance to close down leaders Castletown

Three teams go into this weekend's Isle of Man football fixtures locked together on points at the top of the Canada Life Men's Premier League.

Corinthians, Rushen United and Laxey all reside on 13 points going into tomorrow's matches (27 September) with Corinthians leading the way by virtue of goal difference.

That trio are three of four sides in the top flight still undefeated after five games along with Onchan who sit just three points further back in fourth.

As part of Saturday's schedule Corinthians travel to fellow frontrunners Laxey with Rushen United facing a tricky test away to Onchan.

Elsewhere, a number of teams in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 will have the chance to close the gap to current leaders, Castletown who don't have a fixture this weekend.

Among those, second-placed Colby could move to within a point of Castletown if they win away at Marown whilst Malew will be hoping to move towards the top two when they head to Douglas Royal.

All of Saturday's fixtures will kick-off at 2.30pm with the exception of St Mary's vs Ramsey in the Canada Life Men's Premier League which will get underway at the earlier time of 1.45pm.

Separately, the Isle of Man FA has confirmed it's accepted a request from Peel AFC's combination side to postpone their tie against Braddan this weekend.

On Sunday, the latest Canada Life Women's League clashes are due to take place which will include Corinthians - who took an emphatic 20-0 win over Union Mills last week - take on last year's Women's FA Cup finalists, Malew.

Defending champions Peel are on the road at Onchan whilst Rushen United welcome Douglas Royal.
