Peel and St John's stay top

There were victories for Cronkbourne, Castletown and Peel & St John’s in the Isle of Man Premiership.

Peel and St John’s extended their unbeaten run at the top to four matches when they beat Ramsey by ten wickets.

Batting first, Ramsey were in contention with the score at 44 for two but were then blown away for 77 all out by Nick White who finished with impressive figures of five for 10 from five overs.

The Saints then cruised to victory in eight overs without losing a wicket.

Chris Hawke starred with 52 from only 26 balls, while Ollie Webster ended on 17 not out.

Cronkbourne scored 212 for six against Crosby with Jaco Jansen hitting 59 and Max Stokoe 51.

Dave Picken took three wickets for 24, while Ross Berry’s eight overs cost only 12 runs.

The Marown team were then dismissed for 86, despite a solid 30 from Chris Langford.

Matty Ansell returned three for six from five overs and Sam Mills had two for nine.

Castletown notched their second win of the season when they beat the Schools Eleven by three wickets.

Eddie Beard made 48 and Mark Williams 35 as the Scholars ended their 40 overs on 178 for nine.

Tom Kennaugh was the best of the bowlers with four for 29.

Town got the runs in 31 overs, mainly thanks to Dan Laughlin hitting 54 from 48 balls.

Paul Fleming scored 40 while both Stuart Mellors and Eddie Beard took two wickets.
