Foxdale promotion hopes take setback

Town see off spirited Malew

Foxdale’s promotion hopes suffered a blow on Saturday.

They were held to a 1-1 draw at Pulrose in JCK Division Two as they failed to make up much ground on the top two.

Kevin Pulman equalised for the westerners after they trailed to a Joe Canipa goal.

But Pulrose held on, Owen Quayle managing to clear three Foxdale attacks off the line.

Castletown were given a scare by Malew before winning the southern derby.

Jordi Krypner had threatened a surprise before Alex Crawley and Jamie Cadwallader turned the match in town’s favour in the second half.

Onchan were 5-2 winners at Governor’s Athletic, thanks to goals from Joe Rees (three), Chris Asbridge and Josh Brockbank.
