Rally Isle of Man will be back on the calendar in 2012.
Last year's event was cancelled at the last minute after a change of dates, loss of Championship status and a row over funding.
The proposed dates for the return are Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd September and it will include the Duke Stages Rally.
After an approach from the British Historic Rally Championship, the main focus will be the historic class - it will be the final round of their Asphalt Cup series.
New committee Chairman John Gill says the event should bring in up to £850,000 to the Manx economy and he believes this will be welcomed by local businesses after last year's no show:-
