Gymns net first win

Gymns recorded their first win of the season in the Warehouse Fitness Women’s league.

A 16-0 win over Old Boys – severely weakened from last season - at Tromode produced eight goals in each half.

Alannah Hall led the way with a four goal haul, there was a Rhiannon Brew hat-trick, doubles from Eleanor Gawne and Kayleigh Whitehead and one apiece from Lauren Miller, Gillian Christian, Kim Carney, Elaine Wiseman and Bekkie Ringham (penalty).

Peel got back to winning ways following their tough start with a morale-boosting 5-1 win over Colby at Station Road.

Leading 2-0 at the break, Nicola Naden (three), Maxine Smalley and Sarah O’Reilly scored for the westerners.

The southern response came via a Mel McKnight penalty.

Douglas Royal continued their goalscoring form ahead of the forthcoming Ballafletcher derby with a 11-0 victory over Castletown at home.

Donna Shimmin was the star of the show with five goals.

She was joined on the scoresheet by Becci Pate (two), Rebecca Cole (two), Bekkie Colquitt and Katie Halsall.
