Halsall into British Final

Laxey swimmer Grant Halsall has qualified for the 100m Backstroke Final at the British Championships.

The Gubay Follow your Dreams scholarship winner set a time of 56.75 seconds - a new Isle of Man Senior and Junior record. He also knocked a second and a half off the 15 year old age group British record time for the event.

15 year-old Halsall, competing for the Plymouth Leander club, is the youngest in the final by 3 years.

His time was the 7th quickest of the 8 through to tonight's final.
