Hockey: Dunn and England beaten in junior world cup quarter-finals

Manx player and national side lose out to Netherlands in Santiago

Manx hockey player, Sienna Dunn and the England Under-21 women's team have been beaten in the quarter-finals of this year's Junior Women's World Cup.

The national side suffered an 8-2 loss at the hands of the Netherlands in the last-eight stage in Santiago, Chile yesterday (8 December).

As a result, England now enter the final position play-off phase where they will face the USA at 6pm local time today (9 December).

During yesterday's contest, Biba Mills and Beth Gardens were on target for England in the eventual defeat.

Starring in front of goal for the Netherlands was Iris de Kemp who secured a hat-trick; Kaatje Walhof netted twice and there were goals too for Gussje Moes, Noor van den Nieuwenhof and Katerina Langedijk.

Former Island player, Dunn has been captaining the England Under-21 team at this year's tournament and was also part of the team which finished fourth at the same event in 2023.
