Holders see off arch rivals

Cu Plas FA Cup holders Rushen continued their hodoo over arch rivals Peel in a five goal thriller at Croit Lowey.

After taking an early lead through Adam Cregeen, Rushen were facing an exit when Kerron Christian and Daniel Bell turned the match in Peel’s favour.

However, two quick goals from Jack Saxon and Mike Williams booked the holders a place in the quarter-finals.

There was a surprisingly one sided scoreline at Ballacloan as 2009 winners Old Boys won 7-1 at Ramsey.

A Craig Stewart double and one each from Liam Buckley, Sean Gavin, Martin King, David Quirk, plus an own goal, sealed a romp into the last eight.

Jamie Moffitt notched the home side’s consolation.

St George’s showed no mercy to Second Division Foxdale in their rearranged tie at Billy Goat Park.

The original match had been abandoned with the Geordies well in control and it was a one-sided contest again.

A hat-trick from Ciaran McNulty, two from Frank Jones and one apiece from skipper Sean Quaye, Sam Caine, Connor Dempsey and Chris Bass ensured an easy win.
