Moving birthday tribute by family
Sixty balloons were released at the Southern 100 race headquarters at Billown on Saturday to celebrate the late Ian Bell's 60th birthday.
The balloons were in the Bell Yamaha Racing team colours and were released in the presence of Ian's wife Trudi, close family, friends, fans and members of the club.
Ian, who is the only rider to have won Southern 100 solo and sidecar championship races, died after an accident in the second TT sidecar race last year.
After the release of the balloons, Ian's ashes were scattered on the start/finish line on the Castletown by-pass by son and sidecar passenger Carl.
