Manx ease to cup victory
The Isle of Man national team made a winning start to the FA Inter League Cup on Saturday night.
A second minute goal from former skipper Sean Quaye gave the Manx a dream start and they went onto comprehensively see off Peterborough and District in the first round of the competition.
Despite a Peterborough equaliser, the Island weren’t to be denied in Paul Jones’ first match in charge.
Man of the match Jack McVey restored the hosts’ advantage and Lee Gale doubled the lead before the break at the Bowl.
Furo Davies added a fourth in the second period to complete a 4-1 win for the Island who will play the winner of the tie between Liverpool County League and the West Yorkshire League in the next round.
