Manx side beaten at the hands of reigning Welsh champions

The Isle of Man men's national football side fell to an 8-0 friendly defeat at the hands of The New Saints (TNS) last weekend.

During the contest on Saturday, 13 June at Park Hall Stadium in Oswestry, the hosts moved into a 2-0 lead during the first period thanks to a brace from Ben Wilson in the final five minutes of the half.

Into the second half and Wilson secured his hat-trick to put TNS 3-0 up before Brad Young netted a fourth and fifth shortly after.

It was six when Dan Williams found the net for the home side before substitutes, Lewis Wynne and Jake Morris got in on the act to round out a resounding TNS win at the full-time whistle.

Next up for the Isle of Man national squad will be a triangular tournament at The Bowl in Douglas, taking place on Friday, 17 July and Saturday, 18 July in a series which will also feature Ynys Mon and AFC Blackpool.
