Duke Video helps set up alternative

The physical gathering for the Isle of Man Sports Awards may have been cancelled thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn't mean the event isn't going ahead in another way.

Sports fans will be able to watch the awards from the comfort of their own home on 23 April.

Isle of Man Sport has been working to arrange an alternative, and with the help of Duke Video has created the Island's first ever digital sports awards.

The show will be available to everyone on the Isle of Man Sport YouTube channel and social media platforms, starting at 7pm on Thursday next week.

Education, Sport and Culture Minister Dr Alex Allinson says the awards are a real highlight of the Manx sporting calendar, so it is wonderful the community can still enjoy them this year.

In total there are 11 categories, including sportsman and sportswoman of the year, team of the year and disability sportsperson of the year.
