
'Manx Missile' Mark Cavendish could be in for one of the highlights of his sporting career tonight (Thursday).
He is the front-runner for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award, which will be presented at Salford's Media City at the end of a two-hour television programme.
The winner will be determined by a public telephone vote and Dot Tilbury, who is in British cycling's Hall of Fame, wants everybody to ring the number allocated to Cav at the start of the programme:
