
The Isle of Man bounced back from defeat in their opening game with a fine win against France yesterday in the European Under 17 Cricket Championships in Germany.
A great opening stand by Alex and Max Stokoe was the foundation from which the side built a total of 187 for 4; Alex hitting a splendid 85 and Max showing good form to make 59.
Usman Khan led the French reply with a hard-hit 42 but tight bowling by the Manx restricted them to 153 for 8, Sam Walker bowling well to take 3-28.
The Island continue their challenge today against Israel, then face Germany on Wednesday.
Meanwhile the Blincoe Cup Final between Loaghtyn Rams and Ramsey was rained off yesterday and will now be played this coming Sunday.
