Junior Manx Grand Prix race red-flagged

Today's Junior race at the Manx Grand Prix has been red-flagged after a "serious incident" at Alpine on lap two.

Simon Fulton was leading the race at the time and had just set a new Junior MGP lap record of 120.329mph, about 0.1 seconds ahead of Tommy Clucas' old mark.

Wayne Kirwin was second, with Michael Sweeney third.

Earlier Manxman Dan Sayle came off in an incident at Signpost Corner at the end of lap one while leading the race.

He was conscious, and was taken by ambulance to Noble's Hospital before being released a short time after.

Another local rider, Tim Venables, who won the Newcomers A on Monday, came off at Greeba Castle on lap one and is described as being in a critical condition in Noble's.

With regards to the red flag, Charlie Lambert read out this announcement, which came from race organisers at around 11.20am:
