Onchan speed king on top at Criterium
Manxman Peter Kennaugh has won stage seven of the Criterium du Dauphine.
The Team Sky rider rode solo to the win on Alpe d'Huez, pulling away from compatriot, fellow Isle of Man resident Ben Swift, in the final three kilometres to win by 13 seconds.
‘To win at L'Alpe d'Huez is better than being an Olympic champion,’ said Onchan man Kennaugh, who won gold at London 2012 as part of the Great Britain team pursuit squad.
Australia's Richie Porte continues to lead the event overall and extended his advantage on second placed Chris Froome to one minute two seconds ahead of Sunday's final stage.
