Keys candidate makes LVP vendetta allegation

A row has broken out between two of the general election candidates standing in South Douglas.

Bill Malarkey was elected to one of the constituency's seats five years ago as a member of the Liberal Vannin Party, but subsequently left, continuing as an independent.

Kate Beecroft, who has come forward as an LVP candidate, has criticised Mr Malarkey for leaving, saying he let down the voters of South Douglas.

Mr Malarkey sees her comments as part of some sort of vendetta against him (listen to audio file below):

Mr Malarkey's fellow South Douglas MHK, David Cretney, has also confirmed to Manx Radio he will be standing in the House of Keys general election in September.
