Sir John Lorimer will be attending the opening ceremony in Orkney later
The Lieutenant Governor has praised the efforts of the athletes representing the Isle of Man at the Island Games.
The event is being held in Orkney, with the opening ceremony taking place later today.
Two years ago the Manx squad brought home more than 60 medals, including 20 golds, finishing third in the medal table in Guernsey.
But Sir John Lorimer says simply being part of the team is a huge achievement:
FC Isle of Man to host play-off contenders Irlam
Hockey: Hopes more will take up 'important' non-playing roles in sport
Rugby: Table-topping Douglas head to West Park
Football: 2025 Railway Cup semi-finals await
