Former Island resident Alex Lloyd has been named rookie of the year at the IndyCar Series Championship Celebration.
The 25-year-old Dale Coyne Racing driver received the award and $25,000 at the event at Miami's W Hotel.
Lloyd finished 16th overall in this year's championship, while his best race finish was fourth at the legendary Indy 500
