Locals Corlett and Baxter seal podium places

Reigning champion Ben Thomas has successfully defended his title in the Manx Telecom End to End Mountain Bike Challenge.

He finished Sunday's race in a time of three hours, four minutes and six seconds, just over a minute-and-a-half clear of local man Nick Corlett.

Another local, Elliot Baxter, was third in three hours, seven minutes and 18 seconds.

Thomas, a member of the pro Vauxhall Motors cycling team, was thrilled to clinch victory in the gruelling event.

Kate Priest was the leading Manx woman in fourth overall.

Andy Kelly and Kaitlin Slack won the half distance event with William Draper the leading junior.
