Memorable day for D&D

Town suffer surprise defeat

Douglas and District achieved arguably the finest result in their history with a 3-2 success over Castletown on Saturday.

A first ever goal for 18 year-old Dan Robinson and goals from Simon Taylor and Dale Kenna caused the surprise of the day in JCK Division Two.

Nathan Cooil scored both for Town as they slipped to an embarrassing defeat and another setback for their promotion bid.

Promotion chasing Foxdale saw off Ramsey Youth Centre 9-1 in a surprisingly one-sided contest.

Liam Cannan (three), Aaron Costain (two), Charlie Harrison (two), Jay Chatwood and Steve Betteridge were on target at Billy Goat Park.

A Dean Kinley hat-trick helped Malew to a 4-2 win over Governor’s Athletic.

Rob Bell and Peter Callow had given Governor’s a 2-1 half-time lead but improving Malew, with Toby Tsofa adding the fourth, hit back.

Marown won 5-2 at lowly Michael.

Niall Quayle (two), Ali Morris, Andy Marshall and Joey Rothwell found the net.

Andy Williamson and veteran Kieran Quinn scored for the home side.
