Mills and Onchan close gap

Union Mills overcame a scare to edge closer to leaders Marown at the top of JCK Division Two on Saturday.

A Matty Cain double and one from Alex Suckling sealed a 3-2 win at Malew to give the Millers all three points.

Chasing Onchan also had to see off battling opponents as they ran out 5-3 winners over Douglas and District.

Daniel Bentham, Dominic Dawson, Rob Byrne (two) and Steve McIntosh scored the goals for Onchan.

Aaron Bradley (two) and Richard Sparks netted for D&D.

Douglas Royal and Colby shared the spoils at Ballfletcher.

Steve Kelly was the Colby marksman.

Second half goals from Danny O’Hare, Paul Ramsden and Lee Ramsden fired Braddan to a 3-0 victory over basement battlers Ronaldsway, while Foxdale turned on the style to see off the Police 5-1.

Steve Morrison (two), Liam Cannan, Gavin McLaughlin and Willie Woods all hit the net with Scott Davies netting the Police consolation.

Michael saw off Pulrose 4-2, courtesy of goals from Kevin Pulman, Danny Chalk and Matthew Brand (two).

Mike Skillen grabbed both for the visitors.
