MMCC pays tribute for former MGPSC chairman

The Manx Motor Cycle Club has paid tribute to a former chairman of the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club, who passed away at the weekend.

The MMCC says Robert 'Bob' Taylor died on Saturday, after bravely fighting illness.

The Sulby resident first rode in the MMCC Newcomers Junior Race in 1982, riding a Yamaha and finished in 11th position.

He competed every year with varying degrees of
success up to and including 1988.

From 1990 to 1996 inclusive he rode in the Classic Manx, but never managed to finish a race.

Bob will be more remembered by many as a former chairman of the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club, having recently stood down from that position after four years.

He will be sadly missed by the MMCC, MGP Supporters Club and many people in the motorcycling world.

The funeral will be this Friday at the Sulby Community Hall, Clenagh Road, Sulby, at 3pm, followed by burial at Lezayre Church.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the MGPSC or Hospice Isle of Man.
