Morling the Mills hero

 

Union Mills secured the result of the day in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday.

 

They won 4-1 at high-flying St John’s in an impressive display.

 

Joey Morling was the hero with a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by substitute AJ Suckling.

 

Andrew Chadwick scored the only goal for the home side.

 

Prolific frontman Steve Priestnal hit a hat-trick of his own and Marc Priestnal and Nathan Cooil grabbed the other goals as St Mary’s consolidated second spot with a 5-0 win at bottom club Castletown.

 

Ramsey warmed up for next weekend’s FA Cup semi-final with a 3-1 home win over Corinthians.

 

Experienced striker Martin Torr scored twice and Kris Halsall the other at Ballacloan.

 

Max Kneale replied for Corinthians.

 

Doubles from Callum Stewart and Craig Stewart helped Old Boys to a 5-0 home success over Michael.

 

Darren Hudgeon netted the other.

 

Laxey were 5-1 winners at relegation battlers Ramsey Youth Centre, whose goal was scored by Marc Faragher.
